 I recently attended my 8th Festival College. What’s Festival College you ask? It is a 2 ½ day leadership seminar in the Wisconsin Dells that Festival Foods puts on for almost all of its leaders. I was lucky enough to be one of the nearly 300 attendees this year. Festival College is a place where  Associate Development is one of our Five Values at Festival and at the heart of it is the training that we provide to our associates. One of our most thoroughly developed training programs is Cashier Training. Many people may believe the role of a cashier is an “easy job” however  On Friday, April 15 we gathered for the groundbreaking of our sixteenth store, which will be located in the Village Shopping Center on State Road in La Crosse . The last store that we opened in the La Crosse area was our Copeland Avenue store in 2006, so it felt good to once again be  Specialty cheese is like taking an adventure to a new and wonderful place! I really enjoy making platters for guests coming over for cocktails before dining out or before a nice dinner at home. Everyone I know loves cheese! If you are a beginner with specialty cheeses, I would recommend starting with a caprese tray  Festival Foods shoppers already know that we have lots of great stuff, but now our meat department carries a great selection of stuffed items. Let’s check it out! One thing many people forget about is how important our skillful associates are. In the spotlight today: our cake decorators! At Festival, we have some of the most skilled cake decorators I am a basketball fan and have enjoyed attending both the men’s and women’s UWGB Phoenix team games for several years. The Lady Phoenix represented in the Sweet 16 this year and it was amazing to see the team in action. While they lost in the first round to Baylor, they played hard, and it |
