The Dietitian’s Top Pick

The Dietitian’s Top Pick: Campbell’s® Skillet Sauces + GIVEAWAY!

Life is busy, isn’t it? We are constantly on the go; therefore, convenience sometimes trumps nutrition and taste when it comes to food. What if I told you that you could whip up an awesome meal in just 15 minutes using one dish? Oh, and that it would be packed with lean protein, veggies and whole grains. The solution: new Campbell’s® Skillet Sauces!

These sauces come in a variety of flavors, including Marsala, Creamy Chipotle, Fire Roasted Tomato, Scampi, Thai Green Curry and Toasted Sesame. Each sauce highlights protein pairings and skillet suggestions right on the package, solving the “What’s for Dinner” dilemma that many of us experience. Just pick your pouch and prepare for a fabulous meal in a flash!

In 3 simple steps (and 15 short minutes), this super sauce can make a delicious dinner. First, grab your skillet and heat 1 tablespoon oil over medium heat. Then, cook your protein and add lots of veggies! Lastly, stir in sauce, heat to a boil, reduce heat to low and cook until the meat or seafood is cooked through. Pair with brown rice, whole wheat pasta or quinoa, and dinner is served!

I love it when dinner is quick, easy, tasty and healthy! One of my favorite meals to throw together is Crunch Turkey Pita Pockets made with the Toasted Sesame Skillet Sauce. If you have any trouble finding these pouches in the store, just ask one of our friendly Festival associates!

What will your 15 minute skillet creation be? I’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment below explaining what sauce you tried, along with how you used it, and you will be entered to win a $5 Festival Foods Gift Card! (BONUS: Get a double entry if you comment on our Facebook page as well!). A winner will be chosen on Wednesday, February 26th, 2014 by 3pm CT.

Love making shrimp scampi — just throw it on plain pasta and maybe add a little cheese.

I tried the Toasted Sesame as I had some frozen chicken breasts. The kids and I loved it! It was a quick and easy dinner.

Have just about every flavor of skillet sauce and slow cooker sauce in our pantry! These are super fast and easy, and actually taste pretty good. So far, tried the shrimp scampi with spaghetti noodles, and the creamy parmesan chicken over rice. Can’t wait to try the others!!

Tried to get the coupon at their website. The email they sent me just links back to the original site, not to any place where a coupon can be printed.

I would use the fire roasted tomato and add angel hair pasta, as well as sun dried tomatoes and mozzarella!

  • Fritz I am sorry that the link is not working for you. It was working when Lauren wrote the blog unfortunately they may have a limit to the number they are giving out. We hope you will still try this new product.

I have used the Thai green curry sauce to make a version of pad Thai that is awesome. Just mix a bit of natural creamy peanut butter and hot chili sauce with the package, stirfry chicken & your choice of veggies, and add sauce mixture to pan, simmer. I serve the meal with medium size flat rice noodles.

We enjoy the Marsala with chicken. The mushrooms in the sauce are a bonus.

  • avatar Michelle

I have used the sesame one, pretty good. I do a lot of my own cooking from scratch but when in a hurry I do tend to cheat!

I will have to try it out! Sounds yummy!

Creamy chipotle for the chicken, with fresh chunks of pineapple mixed in. Yummm….

I tried the marsala over chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. It was delicious and quick! I liked the suggestions on the package!

  • These skillet sauces should help even the most amateur cooks. Several options are available to satisfy every member of your family.

  • Thank you all for the fantastic comments and skillet creation suggestions! Thanks to you, I am definitely inspired to try some of these creations myself!
