The Dietitian’s Top Pick: Tostitos® Multigrain SCOOPS!® Tortilla Chips + GIVEAWAY!

tostitios #festfoods

Some foods just go together, like cheese and crackers, cookies and milk, and peanut butter and jelly. So, what goes with both dip and salsa? Chips of course! In the spirit of our Cinco de Mayo Eat Well Ad this week, I’m highlighting one of my favorite tortilla chips: Tostitos® Multigrain SCOOPS!® Tortilla Chips.

What sets these chips apart from the rest? First off, the bowl-like shape (or the “scoop”) makes it perfect for piling on healthy dips, like Dannon® Oikos® Greek Yogurt Dips, Three-Layer Mexican Dip and Classic Guacamole, as well as veggie or fruit loaded salsas, like Sweet & Spicy Kiwi Salsa, Peachy Black Bean Salsa and Summer Melon Salsa. These chips are also heartier than typical tortilla chips, which makes them even better for scooping. Next, Tostitos® Multigrain SCOOPS!® are made with a few simple ingredients: corn, heart healthy oils and salt. These chips are even low in sodium, but still taste salty. The salt is on the surface, giving the tongue a burst of flavor verses being baked in, which is common among several other chips, crackers and cereals. Interesting, isn’t it? Last, but certainly not least, these chips taste great!

How will you munch on Tostitos® Multigrain SCOOPS!® this summer season? I’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment below, and you will be entered to win a $5 Festival Foods Gift Card! (BONUS: Get a double entry if you comment on our Facebook page as well!). A winner will be chosen on Friday, May 9th, 2014 at 12pm CT. Happy snacking!

Bought some of these today at our store — although the corn oil and canola (aka rapeseed) oils are not actually healthy, hopefully they use sunflower. At least they are making some steps in the right direction by using rosemary as a preservative / herb in this one, and the brown rice and buckwheat are good. Now if they would just take the wheat out of their Artisan chips, we would really be getting somewhere!
