 I am excited to introduce Noosa Yoghurt in our dairy department at Festival Foods! First- why is it spelled yoghurt instead of yogurt? Yoghurt is the preferred spelling in the UK and Australia much like colour or flavour. Same meaning- different spelling. I am a Junior Achievement Board Member and I recently had the pleasure of participating in my first Business Challenge. The challenge was held at the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College Center for Business and Industry. Did you know that Green Bay is the hometown of not one, but two world class and highly renowned soccer players? And- did you know that they both have very inspirational stories that they will share at the Meyer Theater in Green Bay? Do you remember when you were a child and a peanut butter sandwich was a staple food in your diet? Perhaps you are like me and still like to enjoy a PBJ now and then. I started thinking about peanut butter after receiving an e-mail from Smuckers, one of the largest peanut butter manufacturing companies I recently attended my 8th Festival College. What’s Festival College you ask? It is a 2 ½ day leadership seminar in the Wisconsin Dells that Festival Foods puts on for almost all of its leaders. I was lucky enough to be one of the nearly 300 attendees this year. Festival College is a place where I joined forces with our Store Directors at each Festival location and just finished conducting annual reviews for all of our Grocery and Frozen/Dairy Department Managers. I know what you are probably thinking… yuck! That doesn’t surprise me. The perception by many people in the working world is that Festival Foods in De Pere will be hosting Major League Baseball pitcher Jason Berken on Saturday, January 8 from 10:00am-Noon. Please feel free to stop by as Jason will gladly take photos and sign autographs. Our hope is to help promote awareness for the Junior Achievement speaking engagement featuring Jason at The holiday season, which begins for most people with Thanksgiving and continues through New Year’s Day, often brings some added stress. Maybe you’re faced with the challenge of entertaining/hosting the family Christmas party. In an effort to pull off the perfect holiday, you might find yourself facing the dizzying challenge of shopping, baking, cleaning and What a week! If you visited one of our stores on October 26th, 27th or 28th you may have noticed a few things that looked a little different or out of place. Twice a year we have our ENTIRE store inventoried and counted. What does that entail you ask? It means we count every item The Festival team is committed to practicing our “Boomerang Theory”. Our associates are empowered to make decisions and take actions that will “bring the customer back”. And we can’t do it alone.
