Back in February of 2010 I blogged about our purchase of Apple Creek Inn, a banquet facility located just south of De Pere. We are proud of the changes and progress we’ve made in the two short years we’ve owned the business.

 I’ve been on hiatus from blogging but thought that if anything could get me writing again it would be the opening of a brand new Festival Foods store! I am serving as the Campaign Chair for the Brown County United Way this year and I am fired up about it! Festival Foods has always been a big supporter of the United Way and when the opportunity to lead the charge in Brown County was presented to me I couldn’t turn it down. Those On Friday, April 15 we gathered for the groundbreaking of our sixteenth store, which will be located in the Village Shopping Center on State Road in La Crosse . The last store that we opened in the La Crosse area was our Copeland Avenue store in 2006, so it felt good to once again be I am a basketball fan and have enjoyed attending both the men’s and women’s UWGB Phoenix team games for several years. The Lady Phoenix represented in the Sweet 16 this year and it was amazing to see the team in action. We have been hosting Festival College for more than 15 years and a lot has changed since our first gathering held in What a great time to live in Green Bay! It was just two weeks ago that I was talking about the recent Sheboygan announcement in my blog and now here I am sitting down to write to you about more exciting news for Festival Foods! We will be purchasing two (2) Quillin’s stores in La Crosse, located I am thrilled to announce that we will open our 15th store in September of 2011. The store will be built in Sheboygan, Wisconsin at the old Wal-Mart site on Taylor Drive. Work will begin soon, with the existing building being torn down in the next 30 days and then construction on the new 70,000 If you asked 100 kindergartners what they want to be when they grow up, you probably aren’t going to hear, “I want to be a retail grocer”!
